Quick note about the running training downloads before we start. These have come from others I have stumbled across, and I will credit them where I can remember the sources. Some are adapted from their original versions to better suit how I run my own training, including the 100K Running Training Programme and Treadmill Speed workouts.
You are welcome to download any of the files. These are programmes I have and am currently using in my own training; they may or may not be right for you. Remember to ensure you are fit, healthy, and listen to your body before you embark on any programme. And just a legal note: I am not recommending you use these programmes; they are provided for you to make your own decision on.
100K Running Training Programme
I discovered this 100K running training programme on relentlessforwardcommotion.com while searching for a suitable plan for 2023. The structure of the programme includes essential components like speed and hill workouts, cut back weeks, tapering for your event, and, most importantly, rest days.
I've enjoyed utilizing this 100K running training programme, and it has certainly enhanced my personal performance. While it is less rigid than some other programmes, it allows you the flexibility to choose how to approach most of the runs, whether that be easy runs, tempo runs, or intervals. Its primary focus is to help you reach the finish line; however, if you are aiming for a fast time, this programme may not be the best fit for you. Additionally, for those interested in incorporating Treadmill Speed workouts, this programme can easily accommodate that as well through running training downloads.
Treadmill Speed and Hill Workouts
I introduced treadmill work into my winter training, and at the same time decided to run an ultra on one in the middle of a shopping centre - yes, I have the daftest of ideas at times!
Using a treadmill gives me more structure, especially for my Treadmill Speed workouts, as I struggle to execute these sessions effectively on the road.
Some of the programmes in the running training downloads I found across the web, while others stem from conversations I had with runners and coaches about the 100K Running Training Programme.
