Cancer can be a very vulnerable and lonely time, when I came through cancer in 2021 I made a commitment to support others, and would do so through my love of running.
I set myself a target to raise £10,000 for cancer and mental health charities. To date I have raised over £9800 on the events I design and take on, you can find those on the Completed Events page.
On each of this years ultra's I will be running with the names of those who have navigated the cancer journey, all names printed and proudly displayed on my running backpack. Those in remission, receiving treatment and those we remember.
I have done this for the last couple of years, the names give me strength and they mean so much to so many.
We are stronger together. On all my 2025 Ultra's I will be carrying on my backpack the names of those whose lives have been touched by cancer, those in remission, receiving treatment and those we remember.
I've carried hundreds of names over the last couple of years on ultra's like the London2Brighton 100K, and I often meet those whose name I am carrying or their family and friends.
You can add a name by clicking on the button below and completing the form. I would be honoured to carry any name you put forward.
During the run I draw strength from the names I am carrying and during the latter stages when the legs are tired I will put my hand on the list and honour my promise to every name to get them to the finish line.
The charities I will support in 2025 are
CHEMOHERO
Provide boxes of kindness to cancer patients at their first chemotherapy treatment. The charity was setup by Lisa Wallis whilst she was going through breast cancer treatment, Lisa lived with cancer for 9 years before sadly passing away in 2021 leaving behind her husband and young family.
The boxes are incredibly emotional to receive and are given at a time when you are often feeling vulnerable and alone. They contain many useful and thoughtful items.

MacMillan Cancer Support
Because cancer affects your life in so many ways, we do whatever it takes to give people the support they need.
That once sentence taken from the Macmillan website says exactly why I have chosen to support them in 2025. Cancer changes your life in so many ways. For me it gave me a renewed focus on the road ahead with my running but it is also something I think about everyday, the questions of what if it returns and when will it return are never far away.

In early 2025 I will setup the JustGiving page for the year ahead - your support means so much to me and the people that will directly benefit .
Thank you.
